Marian Connelly Hamilton, 86, of Vero Beach, died Friday, July 23, 2010, at her home.
Mrs. Hamilton was born Feb. 28, 1924, in Underhill Center, Vt., and moved to Vero Beach 28 years ago from Rockville, Md., having previously resided in Schenectady, N.Y., Roanoke, Va. and Phoenix, Ariz. She was employed by the Boston and Maine Railroad in the early 1940s and General Electric Company for most of her career. Mrs. Hamilton volunteered helping numerous people and organizations tutoring children, visiting the elderly, delivering food to those in need, the local soup kitchen and the American Cancer Society.
She loved gardening and roses and was a member of the Rose Society.
Survivors include her sons Kent Hamilton, of Boca Raton, Fla., and Keith Hamilton, of Jefferson, Md.; daughter, Kathryn Gavin, of Vero Beach; and three grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert W. Hamilton.
The family will be celebrating Marian’s life in her home on Saturday, July 31, from 1-3 p.m. Interment will be in Underhill Center, Vt.
