Glenn Strunk honored by Exchange Club of the Treasure Coast

VERO BEACH — The Exchange Club of the Treasure Coast presented Glenn Strunk, Director/Owner of Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory with a Proudly We Hail award for his American Flag.  A plaque commemorating Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory’s displaying of the flag properly and regularly was awarded on Monday, June 14 by members of the Exchange Club including Holly Mantle, President; David Cooper, Immediate Past President; Kim Prado, Treasurer and Robert Paugh, President Elect.

No symbol inspires respect and love of country more than our American Flag, which is why Exchange encourages all Americans to properly fly the flag as an ongoing, highly visible expression of that respect through our Proudly We Hail Program.  The Exchange Club of the Treasure Coast promotes the values of Americanism and works for the prevention of Child Abuse in our local community.

Family, friends, marines honor ‘protector, hometown hero’

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Frank Strahorn was already considered a hero by his family, friends and marine brothers and sisters because of his military service around the world. Then, on June 19, the 34-year-old became a "hometown hero" after he was fatally shot while helping others escape a gunman carrying an AK-47 assault rifle at a Sebastian pizzeria. Funeral for marine vet killed in shooting set for Tues

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Family and friends will pay final tributes Tuesday to a marine corps veteran fatally shot while helping people escape from a gunman armed with an assault rifle, officials said. The funeral for 34-year-old Frank Shelton Strahorn, Sebastian, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lakeside Fellowship Church, 8000 66th Avenue, Vero Beach, according to his obituary. Social distancing measures, both inside and outside, will be in place to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, according to the Indian River County Veterans Council.
