Childcare Resources welcomes Director to oversee Education Center

VERO BEACH —  Childcare Resources of Indian River is pleased to announce that Beth Geyer has joined the organization as the Director of the Childcare Resources Education Center, which is scheduled to open this summer on the campus of Trinity Episcopal Church in Vero Beach.

Geyer brings to Childcare Resources more than 25 years of early childhood education experience, having worked for 17 years as an instructor in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Missouri prior to joining Childcare Resources. In this position she taught the department’s early childhood student teaching course as well as taught full time in an early childhood classroom in the in the department’s lab school. Earlier in her career, Geyer served as the Director of Community Nursery Schools, a United Way-funded early childhood education center in Columbia, Missouri.

In her new role as, she will be responsible for managing all aspects of operations for the Childcare Resources Education Center, which will provide quality care and early education for 53 children of eligible working and student families. At the Education Center, Geyer will supervise of all of the educational programs provided by the faculty, as well as maintain communication with parents and families to help ensure meaningful family involvement.

Geyer earned her Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Development with emphasis on working with children in group settings, and received her Master’s Degree in Human Development with an emphasis on Child Development from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is also a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and has presented a variety of workshops to early childhood educators at the local, state and national levels.

Beth and her husband Frank recently moved to Vero Beach from Columbia, Missouri where they lived for 29 years. Her parents John and Stephanie Smith are residents of Vero Beach.
