Carl William Menk, 88, died June 10, 2010, at his home.
He was born in Newark, N.J., raised in Montclair, N.J., and had homes in Vero Beach and Sea Girt.
He attended Immaculate Conception High School; Seton Hall University, where he was a member of the Twelve and Century clubs; and Columbia University, earning a master’s degree in business administration.
He was a vice president of P. Ballantine & Sons, CEO of Canny, Bowen Inc., and president and CEO of Boyden & Associates. He was a second lieutenant in the Army Air Forces, flying B-17s, B-24s and B-29s.
He was a member of Spring Lake Golf Club, Montclair Golf Club, Glen Ridge Golf Club, John’s Island Golf Club, Bent Pine Golf Club, Sea View Golf Club and Metedeconk National Golf Club.
He was a member of the Knights of Malta, a life member of the Union League Club and an Eagle Scout. He was a supporter of Covenant House and numerous other Catholic charities.
Survivors include his sons, Paul Menk and Carl Menk; daughter, Mary Catherine Cancelosi; brother, Peter of Augusta, Ga.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Elizabeth Regina; and a brother, Paul.
