VERO BEACH — To kick off the summer camp season at Riverside Children’s Theatre, the Dance Conservatory at Riverside will introduce a new project, Dance: Swings! In the span of one week, students will work with instructors to create a new and unique dance work that uses music to tell the story of the Swing Era. Public performances are June 18 at 7:30 p.m. and June 19 at 1:30 p.m. in RCT’s Anne Morton Theatre.
Songs such as “Brother Can You Spare a Dime” and “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree” will help to tell the story of Swing Music and the turbulent times that created it. Instructors and students will collaborate on the choreography. This educational experience for the students will culminate in an enjoyable performance of music and dance not to be missed.
Tickets for “Dance: Swings!” are $6 and may be purchased by calling the theatre box office at 772-231-6990 or 800-445-6745.
