Eleanor Williamson, 80, founding member of ARC

Eleanor Marie Ross Williamson, 80, died unexpectedly May 14, 2010 at Indian River Memorial Hospital.

She was born Feb. 16, 1930 in Binghamton, N.Y. and lived in Vero Beach for 37 years coming from Hershey, Pa. She graduated from Hop Bottom (Pa.) High School, and had additional secretarial training. She married Harry WIlliamson in 1960, owner, operator of Hershey Airport.

Eleanor served as the secretary for the family business until until becoming a mother. After she moved to Vero Beach in 1973, she and her husband were founding members of the Indian River County Association for Retarded Citizens. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist church for 36 years.

The last 45 years of her life was dedicated to her handicapped daughter Jennifer with love and protection.

Survivors include her daughters Anne Williamson (Thomas) Keeler and Jennifer Williamson both of Vero Beach, one grand child, Rena E. Pfarr of Vero Beach. Brothers Donald Ross and Gene Ross, Glen Aubrey, N.Y. Sisters Shirley Ross Goss, Ella Ross Farrell of Glen Aubrey and Linda Ross Hills. Eleanor was was proceeded in death by her husband Harry, her brother Standford Ross and her sister Rena Ross Micha.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Association for Retarded Citizens, 1375 16th Ave. Vero Beach, FL. 32960.

Private family visitation will be Thursday, May 20th from 9-10 a.m.at Thomas A. Lowther Funeral Home and Crematory, 1655 27th Street, Vero Beach. Save
