Edward P. Henry II, 81, Vero Beach

Edward P. Henry II, 81, died April 5, 2010, at Indian River Medical Center.

He was born in Woodbury, N.J., and lived in Vero Beach since 1990, coming from Avalon, N.J.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a graduate of Harvard College snf was owner/operator of EP Henry Corp., a third generation Concrete Masonry company in Woodbury.

He was a member of Grand Harbor, Vero Beach and Wildwood Country Club.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Ann of Vero Beach; son, Edward P. Henry III of Sewell, N.J.; brother, James C. Henry Jr. of Naples; and sister, Margaret Weeks of Atlantis.

Services will be in New Jersey at later date.

Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach. A guest book may be signed at lowtherfuneralhome.com.

VERO BEACH — While chilly temperatures caused a drop in beach attendance last month, lifeguards are happy to report that there were no water rescues that occurred in January. ‘No swimming’ advisory lifted for beaches, officials say

VERO BEACH — Authorities lifted a 'no swimming' advisory for three local beaches Tuesday after test samples showed that bacteria returned to normal levels, health department and city officials said. The result means it was safe to return to the water Tuesday, Vero Beach city officials said. The advisory - which was in place for nearly a week - was issued Jan. 31 for South Beach, Humiston Beach and Sexton Plaza Beach after high levels of fecal-related bacteria were reported at the locations. Howle, Zudans win in Vero; Kinchen, McPartlan, Iovino in Sebastian

All results are in for the Vero Beach and Sebastian municipal elections. Voters have returned Harry Howle to the Vero Beach Council and Bob McPartlan and Linda Kinchen to the Sebastian Council. Val Zudans will join Howle on the Vero Council, while Albert Iovino will round out the last of three seats up for grabs on the Sebastian Council.
