Diane R. Hersh-Dickey, 74, died March 11, 2010, at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
She was born in Allentown, Pa., and lived in Vero Beach for 33 years, coming from Key West.
She was a graduate of Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing, Lancaster, Pa., and attended Emory University, Atlanta, where she earned her advanced registered nurse practioner degree. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and a member of the Florida Nurses Association.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Vero Beach; a 22-year member of the Vero Beach Moose Lodge Women’s Chapter 1541; and a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Before retiring, she worked at the Indian River County Health Department for 15 years. Survivors include her husband of nine years, Donald W. Dickey of Vero Beach; son, Dwayne Hersh of Charleston, S.C.; daughters, Rochelle Santoy of Vero Beach and Kim Lee of Waco, Texas; mother, Arlean Cornell of Vero Beach; brothers, Baron Cornell of Ferris, Texas, and Gaylon Cornell of Frederick, Md.; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Melvin Hersh; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. March 18 at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach. An Eastern Star service will be at 6 p.m. March 18 at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be 10 a.m. March 19 at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. J. Wesley Ummel officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Fort Pierce. A guest book may be signed at strunk funeralhome.com.
