Guilford Norman Hanks, 93, died Feb. 28, 2010, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
He was born in Leverett, Mass., and was a winter resident of Vero Beach for 38 years.
Before retirement in 1965, he owned and operated Hanks Oil Co. in Amherst, Mass., for 35 years. He was a member of Vero Beach Anglers Club.
He was a graduate of Massachusetts Agricultural College.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Nadine Hanks; son, John Hanks of Hadley, Mass.; daughters, Cynthia Benben of Franksville, Wis., Margaret Becklo of Northampton, Mass., and Marilyn Simon of Waynesville, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
