Alfred Carl Westermann, 74, died Feb. 1, 2010, at the Indian River Medical Center.
He was born in New York City and lived in Vero Beach for 20 years, coming from his birthplace. He was a graduate of Bucknell University and started his career as an ad man. He retired in 1989 as a vice president at Petry in New York.
He opened Westermann Communications Advertising in Vero Beach; and started his radio show “Around Town with Al Westermann” on WGYL.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Rodham Westermann; son, Bradley; daughters, Wendy, Jackie and Kimi; and six grandchildren.
