Edward Stephen Gavora, 88, died Jan. 24, 2010, at his home.
He was born in New York, N.Y., and moved to Vero Beach in 1984, coming from Blauvelt, N.Y.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Before retirement, he was a machinist for White Sewing Machines and Rockland Power and Light.
He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, the Polish American Club, the VFW, and the Indian River Model Airplane Club.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Dorothy Gavora of Vero Beach, and brother Frank Gavora of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis E. Gavora.

Interment will be at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet, N.Y.
