VERO BEACH — On Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 7 pm, violinist and composer Bobby Yang will perform with his band and the Oslo and Storm Grove Middle School Orchestras at the Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center. The concert is free and open to the public.
Yang’s violin acts as both the lead singer and guitarist, as the songs of Led Zeppelin, RUSH, and other rock legends, become virtuosic instrumental jams.
Yang is a skilled country-rock fiddler and appears in Kevin Costner’s feature film “Swing Vote.” He perfected his classical style while earning his Masters in Violin Performance with Paul Kantor at the University of Michigan. His passion for rock led him to new venues including the parties of A-list celebrities, such as Antonio Banderas, in-game performances for the NBA and NHL, rock clubs throughout North America and Europe, and country festivals including Coachella’s Stagecoach and Detroit’s Downtown Hoedown.
Yang has also arranged scores for a signature orchestra show attributing classic rock – a show that he performs with school orchestras across the United States. He is featured on Collective Soul’s 2009 self-titled album and worked closely with Butch Walker crafting string arrangements for several songs on Walker’s album Letters. His work with Walker earned him the opportunity to record with Avril Lavigne, Cowboy Mouth, and Default.
