Clarence Ruben Tunmer, 80, of Vero Beach, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2009 at Consulate Health Care of Vero Beach.
Mr. Tunner was born in Fargo, N.D. and moved to Vero Beach in 1991 from Dade County, Florida. He lived in many different states with his parents who were officials in the Salvation Army.
After serving three years in the U.S. Army during WW II, he graduated from Auburn University and received a Masters Degree from the University of Georgia. He worked as a Vocational Administrator in Georgia and retired from the Dade County School System in 1991 at age 62 as a Vocational Administrator.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Evelyn Tunmer of Vero Beach; son Lt. Colonel Fred Tunmer, US Army Ret. of Good Hope, Ga.; daughter Sara Ann Beasley of Milledgeville, GA; six grandchildren and a five great-grandchildren.
