Experience you feel is most relevant to serving in public office and why:
I run my own small business and my construction background. Cities need to be run like a business and make money. With several project in the city my background helps me understand what I would be voting on, not just rely on staff’s explanation.

Candidate Questions
1. What is the biggest challenge facing Sebastian?
Down economy has lowered property value which has lowered taxes bringing less revenue to the city. We need to look at projects that generate revenue not spending.
2. What is your vision for the Sebastian Riverfront area and what steps need to be taken to achieve that goal?
I would like to see a working waterfront and some small shops for people to shop or get a sandwich or an ice cream. Somewhere families want to go. Boaters get take a break from fishing. Quaint little shops, like the fishing village we are supposed to be.
3. What is your position on CRA (Community Redevelopment Area) expenditure allocations in terms of how much is spent in business incentives and infrastructure improvements?
Attracting business is important but if that area looks run down why any business want to come here.
4. One of the city’s efforts currently is to attract new tenants to the Sebastian Municipal Airport. If elected to council, what would you do to continue or change those efforts?
I think we need to improve the infrastructure and add new building. If the space is available it is easier to attract new business.
5. What is your opinion of the Sebastian Clambake and how proceeds are delegated? What, if any, changes would you like to see for the annual event?
I think the less the city is involved the better.
6. Are there possibilities for partnerships or efficiencies by working with Fellsmere, Vero Beach or the county? If so, how would you like the city to work with those entities?
I think we attacked Fellsmere enough on annexation. As for Vero Beach and the county we do just fine without their involvement.
Any other comments?
I think this city needs a change in leadership. We need people who will put the city before their own personal gains and recognition. It’s not about what I did as a council member it’s look the city is doing better.
