See’s the Day at Frosting to support volunteers

VERO BEACH — This summer Frosting, a new bakery on Cardinal Drive in Vero Beach, specializing in cupcakes and other sweet confections, began donating the profits from the sale of See’s Famous Old Time Candies to Plumbago Volunteer Services. See’s candy, well known and sold nation-wide, has been around since 1921. Frosting will continue to donate all profits from the sale of See’s candy to benefit Plumbago Volunteer Services, a nonprofit organization founded to meet the volunteer needs of the community.

“We are thrilled that Frosting is helping support our cause and increasing public awareness of the value, benefits, and need of volunteers,” said Darlene Forage, executive director of PVS. “Every person living in our community can do their part to promote and support volunteerism. We love to see local companies, like Frosting, find ways to support their communities and we are just so happy to be a part of their community.”

Plumbago Volunteer Services is Indian River County’s Volunteer Center, focusing on promoting volunteerism and matching volunteers to worthy causes. If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity please visit www.plumbagovs.org or call (772) 453-5727.  There are over 100+ opportunities in our volunteer opportunities database. We also host events where many local nonprofit organizations with volunteer opportunities are featured, such as our 2009 Dillard’s Volunteer Fashion Show on Sunday, Dec. 6.

Frosting is located at 2915 Cardinal Drive in Vero Beach. Their menu features a variety of specialty flavors that change daily, so stop by any day of the week for a tasteful delight that keeps on giving!
