VERO BEACH — As part of Indian River State College’s Lifelong Learning Institute, Maestro Stewart Robertson is offering friends of the Atlantic Classical Orchestra a new opportunity to get Behind the Baton and gain insights into music gleaned from his decades of experience as performer and conductor. Maestro Robertson has a natural gift for communication- his witty, affable style and incredible knowledge will greatly increase your appreciation, understanding and enjoyment of classical music.
A four-part lecture series, Behind the Baton will be an in-depth study of Western music based on works performed during orchestra concerts by the ACO. First, attend Maestro Robertson’s entertaining and informative presentation in the morning. Then, that same evening hear the music come to life with the knowledge gained earlier in the day.
Behind the Baton will be held on the same days as the ACO concerts, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, Wednesday, Feb. 3, Thursday, March 11 and Thursday, March 25 at Indian River State College’s Mueller Campus in Vero Beach. Cost for current subscribers is $40 per person. Cost for new subscribers including the Behind the Baton Education Series is $150.
