FELLSMERE — The City of Fellsmere will save itself between $1,000 and $2,000 this year now that no challengers have filed to run against Mayor Susan Adams and Councilwoman Sara Savage in the Fellsmere municipal election.

Both women were up for re-election this year and they both qualified for the race, according to City Clerk Debbie Krages. Without challengers, however, there is no need for an election on Nov. 3.

Krages said that the lack of an election would help the city would see a savings between $1,000 and $2,000.

It’s not a lot, according to Krages, “but I’ll take it.”
