Wild hogs, rabbits, raccoons, opossums, skunks, nutrias, beavers and coyotes may be taken year-round.

*No fall harvest of turkeys allowed in Holmes County.

**Spring turkey season is limited to March 20 – April 4 in Holmes County.

Community Development Department closes in-person services

The Community Development Department closed in-person services Monday as county officials implement more health precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Officials plan to add more physical barriers to the front counters inside the building, which already has temperature scanners installed. County employees and those who visit county facilities are already required to wear masks inside. County Administrator Jason Brown was not immediately available to confirm reports that six employees in the Community Development Department tested positive for the virus. Tree worker seriously hurt after falling from bucket truck

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A tree company worker has broken bones after falling at least 10 feet from a bucket truck Thursday, fire rescue crews said. Indian River County Fire Rescue crews responded to the incident at 10:17 a.m. in the 1100 block of 20th Street, Battalion Chief Kyle Kofke said. The man fell 10 to 15 feet at a worksite. Kofke said the man, in his 30's, suffered a possible broken leg and other broken bones. The man was conscious when he was taken by ambulance to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce with serious injuries, Kofke said. It was unclear what town the man lives in. No further details were immediately available.
