Mr. Dennis Richard O’Hara, 61, of Sebastian, died Aug. 22, 2009, at his residence. He was born in Queens, N.Y., and lived in Sebastian for 14 years coming from Ladson, S.C.
He retired from the U. S. Navy as a Senior Chief. He worked at Bent Pines, Hawk’s Nest and Grand Harbor. He was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Patricia O’Hara; son, Devin O’Hara, of Sebastian; brothers, Charles O’Hara, of Bellrose Terrace, N.Y., Glenn Stoner, of Long Island, N.Y., Scott Stoner of Bayside, N,Y.; sisters, Barbara Schwartz, of Bay Shore, N.Y., and Jeanne Stevenson, of Glendale, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Anna O’Hara; and a brother, Raymond.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Aug. 28, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian. Military Honors will follow the Mass conducted by the Sebastian Area Veterans’ “Honor Guard.” A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian.
