Domenick “Dom” Cesiro, 91, of Sebastian, died Aug. 20, 2009, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in Sebastian for 15 years coming from Mineola, Long Island, N.Y.
He was Foreman for the New York City Transit Authority for 33 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II; he was a member of the VFW Post, Albertson, NY; and a member of the Italian-American Club, Sebastian. Survivors include his son, James A. Cesiro, of Palm Bay; daughter, Theresa Phyllis Deodato, of Fort Pierce; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Antionette; his daughter, Maryann; and his son, John.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m, Aug. 23, at Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. Military Honors will follow at Sebastian Cemetery, Sebastian, conducted by the Sebastian Area Veterans’ “Honor Guard.”
