VERO BEACH — Riverside Children’s Theatre will be holding auditions Sept. 4 at 4 p.m., for its fall touring production of “The Nightingale.” Auditions are open to ages 12 and up. Adopted from the tale of Hans Christian Andersen, the play will tour to the Florida Theatre Conference in Lakeland Nov. 14 and to area schools. Two performances will be held in the Anne Morton Theatre Nov. 7 and 8. Those auditioning will be asked to prepare a brief monologue.
Auditions will also be held at the same time for the Senior Performance Ensemble. For ages 12 and up, the Ensemble is a new group at Riverside that will be performing at functions at the theatre as well as in the community at large. Those auditioning for the Ensemble will be asked to sing 16 measures of a song. Both “The Nightingale” and the Senior Performance Ensemble will meet as classes. “The Nightingale” will rehearse on Fridays beginning Sept. 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuition is $150.
