Habitat for Humanity wins Aurora Award

COUNTY — The Indian River Habitat for Humanity won the Aurora Award for Best Solar Energy Efficient House, for its Grace Woods neighborhood, with solar hot water heaters in each of the 36 homes.  It was the second such award for the local affiliate, which won in 2007 for Best Green Construction for Attainable Housing.Each year, the Southeast Building Conference gives a series of Aurora Awards, choosing from among hundreds of entries in 80 categories: builders, developers, architects, planners, interior merchandisers, landscape architects and other disciplines actively involved in projects within a 12-state southeastern region as well as the Caribbean, who have demonstrated building and design excellence.
