James Patrick Kennedy, 91, of Vero Beach, died June 20, 2009. He was born in New York, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach since 1954.
He graduated from St. Ephraim’s, St. Michaels, Fordham University and Columbia University, all in New York. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach. He was proud to be a recovering alcoholic for 33 years.
Survivors include his sisters, Patricia Jones and Edith Hussey, both of North Hutchinson Island; daughters, Shelia Ann Dwiggins, of Clovis, Calif., Mary Elizabeth and McKenzie Erin Kennedy, both of La Jolla, Calif., and Vero Beach.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth.
He was a member of the Garden City Golf and Country Club, Garden City, N.Y., and the Ocean Club, of Atlantic Beach, N.Y.

There will be no visitation. A memorial service at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach will be at a later date.
