INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 52-year-old man who deputies said had methamphetamine and heroin laced with fentanyl – which he admitted to regularly selling – was jailed Thursday. The man had just left a home where he sold a woman methamphetamine before leaving on his bicycle and being pulled over in a traffic stop by deputies.

Deputies arrested Michael A. Torres, of the 1900 block of 35th Avenue, on charges of sale, delivery or possession with the intent to sell or deliver fentanyl and sale, delivery or possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine. Torres was held Saturday at the Indian River County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
Indian River County deputies saw Torres riding on a bicycle about 1:30 a.m. Thursday in the 3800 block of 12th Street, south of State Road 60. Deputies stopped Torres after they said he ran a stop sign at 12th Street and rode in the opposite travel lane.
Deputies searched Torres and found several small plastic bags containing a crystalline substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine. Deputies also searched more plastic bags and found a grey substance that tested positive for heroin, reports show.
The heroin was mixed with fentanyl, deputies said.
Torres admitted to deputies he sells methamphetamine for $60 per gram or $120 per 3.5 grams, and heroin for $30 per one-tenth of a gram, reports show. Deputies also found Torres with a container containing a digital scale with methamphetamine residue on it.
Deputies arrested Torres and booked him into the county jail. Torres has an arraignment at 8:45 a.m. Oct. 25, court records show.
