POLICE: Woman assaulted in Sebastian park restroom

SEBASTIAN — A woman was able to escape a man who attacked her in the restroom at Riverview Park in Sebastian, police said.

The incident happened Wednesday around 1:30 p.m. involving a 45-year-old woman and an unknown male suspect.

According to the woman, she was leaving a stall in the restroom when the man attacked her. She said she was thrown against the wall. The woman told investigators she was able to fight back by kicking and punching the man, which caused him to let go.

The man is described as being 5 feet 9 inches tall and in his early to mid-50s. He has brown hair, a reddish brown unkempt beard. The man was last seen wearing a red baseball style hat with a navy blue or black hoodie, dark jeans, and brown work boots. He walked with a limp.

“This incident is currently under investigation and there is no additional information being released at this time,” the Sebastian Police Department said in its press release.
