‘All clear’ given after Oslo Middle placed on brief lockdown following threat

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Authorities issued an "all clear" Tuesday morning after Oslo Middle School was placed on a precautionary lockdown following reports of an anonymous threat, school officials said. No injuries were reported and there was no danger to students or staff members, Oslo Middle School officials said in a statement on the school's Facebook page. Treasure Coast Elementary closes because of COVID-19 outbreak

SEBASTIAN — Treasure Coast Elementary School shut its doors Wednesday and will remain closed through next week after officials reported several COVID-19 cases among employees and staff members. "We closed due to the high rate and quick spread of COVID-19 cases among students and staff," Indian River County spokesperson Cristen Maddux said. The school, located at 8955 85th Street in Sebastian, was expected to reopen Sept. 13, Maddux said. The school district's food and nutrition department will be providing meals at the campus for students in need. Laptops will also be distributed to families, Maddux said.
