Beverly Suverkrup, 87, Vero Beach

Beverly Suverkrup, 87, of Vero Beach, and Columbus, Ind., died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, peacefully in her sleep. She was born Sept. 6, 1929, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to the late Hettie Lee Simpson Purdy and Harrison Clarence Purdy and was also preceded in death by her brother, Harrison Clarence, Jr.

She attended Oklahoma University where she met her husband of 66 years, Frank (Bud) Suverkrup. They lived in Columbus, Ind., and raised three sons, Craig (Connie), Mark (Juli), and James Suverkrup. Beverly had three grandchildren, Chad (Jenny), Courtney, and Joseph; and two great-grandchildren, Claire and Rose.

She was actively involved with Bible Study Fellowship in Columbus and Community Bible Study in Vero Beach and she also attended the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Vero Beach and Grace Lutheran Church in Columbus. She loved God with all of her heart and served him faithfully.

She was an airplane pilot, an avid golfer and loved playing games with family and friends like Bridge and Mahjong.

There will be a Memorial Service Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, located at 900 27th Ave, Vero Beach, with a visitation at 9:30 and funeral starting at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at Garland Brook Cemetery, Columbus.

Norman Albert Boulais, Sr., 88, Vero Beach

Norman Albert Boulais, Sr., 88, of Vero Beach, passed away on August 23, 2017. Al was born in Hartford, Ct., July 12, 1929, to Lillian and Albert Boulais. He lived most of his life in Vernon, Ct.

Before retirement, he worked at Manchester Motor Sales and Manchester Plymouth. Upon retirement in 1995, he moved to Vero Beach.

He was a member of Rhode Island Mobile Sports Fisherman, Manchester Area Ostomy Association, St. Vincent de Paul Society and Vero Beach Orchid Society. Al volunteered at Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, VBOS Orchid shows, as well as beach cleanups in both Rhode Island and Florida for many years.

His passion was surf fishing at Round Island and spending precious time with his family. He was a communicant at St. Helen’s Church in Vero Beach.

Al was married 66 years and is survived by his wife, Katharine Williams Boulais; his four children and spouses, Norman and Karen Boulais Jr., Robert and Linda Boulais, Rosemary and Stuart Lanz, and Carolyn and Thomas Burke; six grandchildren, Michelle and Matt Pace, Thomas Lanz and Kathi Wood, Katharine Lanz, David Boulais and Carmen Parra Chacon, Nicholas Burke and Ryan Burke; five great-grandchildren, Sylvia Lanz Mathews, Jay Lanz, Jaxson Pace, Gianna Pace and Alfred Boulais; his sister, Doris Jagoutz, and sister-in-law Mary Blanchard; as well as two special people in his life, Jennifer Friesing and Ashleigh Yelton.

A gathering will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 29, from 6-8 p.m. at Cox Gifford Seawinds in Vero Beach followed by an 8 p.m. prayer service. A mass will be held at St. Helen’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, Aug. 30, at 10 a.m.

A memorial will be held in Vernon, Ct., at a later date.

In place of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to St. Helen Catholic Church, memo the Building Fund in honor of Norman Boulais, at 2085 Tallahassee Ave, Vero Beach, FL 32960 or VNA and Hospice Foundation, located at 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
