Concert Pianist Janice Weber to perform at First Presbyterian Church on April 22

VERO BEACH — The public is invited to a benefit piano concert by Janice Weber at First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 22. Ms. Weber will be performing her second concert on the church’s new Steinway grand piano.

Ms. Weber is a member of the piano faculty at the Boston Conservatory of Music and has thrilled audiences with her dynamic playing and masterful treatment of demanding repertoire.

Weber, a mighty technician whose trademarks have been among the biggest finger-busters of the repertoire, has made a career with the unusual, the marathon and the premiere (Seattle Times).

The Wall Street Journal described Ms. Weber as being a concert pianist of cliffhanging panache and daredevil brilliance. Her program in Vero Beach will include classic favorites such as the Scherzo No. 2 in B-flat minor by Chopin, Estampes (Prints 1903) by Claude Debussy, Two Legends by Franz List, and other classics.

“Janice Weber is truly one of the most engaging pianists today, as is evidenced by her standing-room-only performance in Vero Beach in 2011. She is known for her amazing technique and challenging repertoire.

“We are excited to have Ms. Weber perform once again on our new Steinway piano,” said Thomas Goetz, Director of Music and Arts at First Presbyterian.

Weber is also a published novelist whose works include The Secret Life of Eva Hathaway, Customs Violation, Frost the Fiddler, Devil’s Food, and Hot Ticket. She is an exceptionally gifted dual-career professional, equally talented as both author and pianist.

An offering will be received in support of the program, which will go toward the purchase of furniture for the church’s new education building, scheduled for completion in June. A donation of $20 or more per person is suggested.

First Presbyterian Church is located at 520 Royal Palm Blvd. in Vero Beach, at the intersection of Royal Palm and Indian River Blvd.
