Dr. Irene Acosta joins Mental Health Walk-In Center as Clinical Director

VERO BEACH — Kris Sarkauskas, Mental Health Association President & CEO, has announced the appointment of Dr. Irene M. Acosta as Clinical Director of the Mental Health Walk-In Center.

Dr. Acosta is re-locating from the Orlando area and brings more than 20 years’ experience within governmental agencies, privately funded mental health clinics and residential treatment facilities to Indian River County.

She is bi-lingual and her extensive experience with intake, individual and group therapy, diagnostic assessments, treatment planning and case management in addition to her leadership capabilities will enable the MHA to broaden its client base and increase its capabilities in the areas of substance abuse treatment, eating disorders, domestic violence and children’s services as well as new program development/implementation and quality control.

Sandy Singer elected to Mental Health Association executive board of directors

VERO BEACH - Sandy Singer, vice president and senior branch manager at Seacoast National Bank's Wealth Management Center on Cardinal Drive in Vero Beach, was recently elected to the executive board of directors for the Mental Health Association in Indian River County. Singer has been in banking for over 40 years and with Seacoast for the past 15 years. She has served on the executive board of the American Red Cross of Martin County and is an active volunteer for the American Red Cross in Indian River County.
