Frederick Alexander Miller, 93, Vero Beach

Frederick Alexander Miller, 93, of Vero Beach, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.

He was born in Ridgefield, N.J., and he has been a resident of Vero Beach since 2001, coming from Newburgh, N.Y.

He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach, a former commander of the New Windsor American Legion, the Elks Club over 50 years in Newburgh, the Osiris Country Club over 40 years.

He served in the US Army during World War II in Germany.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years Frances Miller, of Vero Beach; sons Paul Miller, of Hilton Head Island, S.C., Fred (Cathy) Miller, of Loudon, N.H.; one grandson; and one granddaughter.

A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach, Florida.
