Martha Damerow, 87, Vero Beach

Martha Damerow, 87, died April 4, 2010, at the Indian River Medical Center.

She was born in Jackson, Tenn., and lived in Vero Beach for 54 years. Before moving to Vero Beach, she was a schoolteacher in Mer Rouge, La., and a technical librarian for the Humble Oil Co. in Houston.

While in Vero Beach, she was a homemaker and a school librarian for the Indian River School District. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Vero Beach.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Kenneth Damerow; sons, Fred Damerow of Kennewick, Wash., and David Damerow of Palm Bay; daughters, Marsha Damerow of Wabasso and Abby Flinchum of Vero Beach; and eight grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Indian River County Main Library, 1600 21st St. Vero Beach, FL 32960.

A gathering of friends and family for remembrance will be at 10 a.m. April 10 at First United Methodist Church, 1750 20th St., Vero Beach.
