United Way Seeks volunteer tax preparers

VERO BEACH —  United Way of Indian River County (UWIRC)  is seeking volunteers to assist in tax assistance and preparation. Volunteers of all backgrounds are welcome but retirees and those with financial backgrounds are highly encouraged to participate.

Volunteers will be trained to help low- and middle-income individuals prepare their taxes at free tax preparations sites around the county. UWIRC is partnering with local VITA sites to expand services to low- and middle-income families. Volunteers will be given free training and are asked to commit to volunteering one day a week from January 19th to April 15th at local tax preparation sites.
