Sebastian Fishin’ Chics In-Shore Fishing Tournament, Oct. 2 – 3, Squid Lips Overwater Grill

SEBASTIAN — The Sebastian Fishin’ Chics will hold their Third Annual In-Shore Fishing Tournament Oct. 2 to 3. The Mandatory Captain’s Meeting at Squid Lips Overwater Grill begins with registration at 5:30 p.m. Friday evening October 2 and lines are in the water at 6 a.m. Saturday, October 3.  The tournament is in-shore, meaning non-ocean, and east of the Indian River County Inlet Bridge and east of the U.S. Coast Guard Station in Ft. Pierce are out of bounds.  But anglers may fish from anywhere else, including a dock, boat, kayak or bridge and do not have to leave from Squid Lips.

The group promotes catch and release, so fish should be brought in alive, weighed and released.  Weigh in is from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Squid Lips.  The entry fee is $50 per adult, and junior Anglers are free.  Species fished for adults are snook, red fish and trout and for juniors, sheepshead, lady fish and Jack Crevelle.

The prize structure, subject to change, is anticipated as $1,000, $500, $250.  Proceeds from the tournament will be split among local charities.  Information: Call (772) 473.9462 or visit www.fishinchicssebastian.com.
