Hole blown in roof of house in Vero Highlands

Staff ReportVERO BEACH — Firefighters were called Friday to battle a house fire on the 2200 block of 16th Avenue SW in the Vero Beach Highlands. When VeroNews.com staff arrived on the scene at about 1:15 p.m., the fire was out, except for stray embers, but the street was still closed off by authorities.It appeared that the front window of the house had been blown out and a large hole had been blown in the roof from some sort of explosion in the garage of the house.Further details will be posted as they become available.
