DESCRIPTION:To quote master Hammond B-3 jazz organist\, pianist and vocalist\, Clarence Palmer\, “Love is the soul of jazz” and his song choices for his TCJAZZ presentation will reflect that theme. After initially learning gospel piano\, Gary Palmer switched to a Jimmy Smith inspired jazz organ in the 1960’s when it was gaining in popularity. Palmer appeared frequently as a sideman with various recording artists in 1960s and 1970s\, chiefly George Benson\, and Fats Theus.
