The Finest Hours: The Coast Guard’s Most Daring Rescue & the Disney Movie

February 4, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Free

Michael Tougias, co-author of “The Finest Hours,” tells the true story of how two separate oil tankers split in half in a 1952 Nor’easter off Cape Cod and how the Disney movie about the disaster was made. He uses slides to illustrate the harrowing tale of the rescue efforts made amidst towering waves and blinding snow in one of the most dangerous shoals in the world.
