Junior Birding Walk at ELC

Join us for a fun and interactive bird walk designed for kids ages 5-11 and adults. We’ll explore the Environmental Learning Center’s campus, learning to use our senses to find and identify the different birds living here.

Using binoculars and field guides, we’ll become junior ornithologists as we search for everything from colorful songbirds to graceful wading birds. We’ll discover what birds eat, where they build their nests, and how their calls and songs help them communicate. This is a great opportunity to connect with nature and see the incredible variety of birds right in our own backyard. This family program fosters a connection with nature, teaching valuable life skills such as observation, patience, and an appreciation for wildlife. Goals include teaching bird identification by sight and sound, understanding bird behaviors and habitats, and recognizing the ecological importance of birds.

This one-and-a-half-hour program is perfect for young nature lovers and curious minds. No prior birding experience is needed.

What to bring:
