Indian River Lagoon Health Update

The MRC is excited to team with the Manatee Observation & Education Center & Fort Pierce Yacht Club for the very first of a new education series, Eco-Evening Presentations at the Fort Pierce Yacht Club.

To kick off the series, the Marine Resources Council Executive Director Dr. Leesa Souto will discuss the first-ever comprehensive health analysis of the entire Indian River Lagoon.

The report is a baseline of health, backed by 20 years of available science provided by the governing water management districts, to guide future restoration efforts and policy to improve the water quality of the IRL system. This report is the first step in a comprehensive IRL restoration effort.

The public can easily see the available information on the state of the lagoon portrayed in info-graphics and charts.

The evening begins with a brief social, followed by Dr. Souto’s presentation at 6:30 p.m., followed by a question and discussion session.
