“I Dissent” – A Powerful One-Woman Show Celebrates the Legacy of Ruth Bader Ginsburg

VERO BEACH – AAUW-Vero Beach is proud to present the acclaimed one-woman play, “I Dissent,” a fund-raiser to support scholarships for women and girls in Indian River County.

In a one-time-only performance at 1pm Saturday, March 22, in the Emerson Center, “I Dissent” captures the essence of Ginsburg’s tenacity, brilliance, and relentless pursuit of justice. From her early struggles as a woman in a male-dominated legal field to her rise as a cultural icon and feminist icon, this play is a powerful tribute to RBG’s enduring legacy. The play combines riveting storytelling in an immersive performance of pivotal moments that defined Ginsburg’s trailblazing career, all while celebrating her commitment to equality and justice for all.

PLUS: The play will be followed by a panel of local female lawyers, who will discuss their career experiences.

Sheryl Faye has portrayed numerous historical women onstage, including her Vero Beach performance as Queen Elizabeth II last year. A graduate of Emerson College, her career includes stage and television credits.

AAUW-Vero Beach is a 501(c)3 charitable organization. All funds raised go toward scholarships, grants and stipends for girls and women in Indian River County. In 2024 alone, over $10,000 in scholarships were awarded to deserving students locally.
