FREE summer camp for IRC high school students

FREE Summer Camp for Indian River County high school general education and Exception Student Education (ESE) students. ORCA will host two weeks of summer camp, July 8-12 and July 15-19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. The camps focus on improving the health of the Indian River Lagoon through hands-on activities designed to promote teamwork and environmental stewardship. Activities include: • Habitat restoration • Fishing • Seining • Gardening • Cooking with native plants • Eco-art activities and much more! The summer camps include peer-to-peer mentoring and are open to Indian River County Exceptional Student Education (ESE) mentees and general education student mentors ages 14-18. Mentors will be paired with ESE mentees throughout the camp. Mentors will be expected to complete training prior to the summer camps. Funding for the camps is provided by Indian River County Children’s Services Advisory Committee.
