Marcel “Pete” Remy, 87, died June 25, 2013, at VNA/Hospice House in Vero Beach.
He was born in Leominster, Mass., and lived on the Treasure Coast for 30 years, coming from Massachusetts.
He retired from the Leominster Fire Department in 1981 after 24 years of service.
He was a veteran of the Navy, serving during World War II.
He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 3918 and the IAFF Local 1841.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Jackie Remy; daughters, Linda Remy, Donna Richards and Brenda Shakely, all of Vero Beach; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, George “Duke” Remy, Charley Remy, Doria “Titu” Remy and Laval “Jim” Remy; and sisters, Rita Devarolis and Paulette Scoggins.
Services will be conducted at a later date.
Arrangements are by Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach.
