Derek Christian Paul, 41, died June 28, 2013, at his home.
He was born in New Rochelle, N.Y., and lived in Vero Beach for 25 years, coming from Nanuet, N.Y.
He graduated from Vero Beach High School and attended Florida State University.
He was the manager of the Vero Beach Pier One Imports.
He was an artist, musician and avid fisherman.
He also was an accomplished amateur photographer with his photos of nature published locally and by The Weather Channel.
Survivors include his father, William A. Paul of Bath, N.Y.; mother, Therese R. Elliott, of Vero Beach, brother, William A. Paul Jr.; sister, Katherine C. Paul; and two grandmothers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. July 2 at the Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach.
