Frederick C. Koenig, 79, of Vero Beach passed away Oct. 10, 2016.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret, daughter Kim Koenig Baldwin (Billy), son Kyle (Domenique) and grandchildren Cameron and Tahnee.

Koenig was born in Royal Oak, Mich., to Charles and Ruby McClure Koenig on Dec. 4, 1936. He attended local schools until he entered Michigan State University (Go Spartans!) in 1955, where he was a proud member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.

Upon graduation, he was recruited by IBM for a job in the Detroit area and remained with that company until retirement. In 1976, IBM promoted him to International Marketing Manager and transferred him to England.

During his tenure he traveled extensively through Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In the London Head Office he met Margaret, who was to become his wife. They married at the Fulham Registry Office in August 1978 and at the end of that year he returned to the U.S. with his new bride. They happily settled in Connecticut and Koenig worked out of the White Plains office.

In 1982 they transferred to Boca Raton where the new IBM personal computer (PC) was being developed.

Since 1994, they have enjoyed living in Vero Beach, where they happily played golf, enjoyed numerous social and volunteering activities and created many close friendships and relationships.
