Mike ‘Grumpy’ Minotty, 62, of Sebastian, passed away on June 13, 2016, at the Sebastian River Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Ellen S. Minotty; mother Jean E. Minotty of Vero Beach; stepson David Queen and his wife Sibongile of Atlanta, Ga., and their children Avery and Phoenix; stepdaughters Kelsea Dunham, son Patrick and her partner Brett of Portland, Maine and Jenna Tcimpidis and her husband Jonathan, whom Mike considered a son, of Sebastian, their children Sophia and Ezra; sister Vicki Kolbe and her husband John of St. Augustine and Cheryl McShane of Lake Worth; multiple nieces and nephews and of course his beloved dog Moose and his pal Peanut.
He was preceded in death by his father Victor Minotty Jr.
Minotty was born in Elmer, N.J., and moved to Sebastian 22 years ago from Greenville, Maine to become Facilities Manager for his cousin Dr. Paul Minotty.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving his country as a fighting Marine.
Nature was his passion. The woods was his passion. He dabbed with game management, preserving his love of hunting deer and turkey on his farm in Kentucky. He enjoyed teaching and showing others his knowledge of nature and balance of life in all areas.
Minotty was an archer and member of the Indian River Archers. He was also a member of the Marine Corps League in Vero Beach, the NRA and a Past Vice-President of the Leathernecks MC International Space Coast Chapter.
