Thomas Richard “Rick” Waters, 74, of Vero Beach, passed away on March 26, 2016.
He is survived by his son Jeff Waters; daughter-in-law Heidi; and grandchildren Emma, Charlotte, and Henry in Rhode Island; daughter Gwen Kinser and grandson Clay of Kentucky; and former wife, Lorraine McLaughlin of Kentucky.
He was recently predeceased by his fiancé, Sandi Skinner, whom he missed dearly.
Waters’ life was underpinned with hard work, selflessness, and exploration. His wanderlust took him to all corners of the US, New Zealand, and Europe. He left a trail of charity, care, and joy with the many people he met. Those people amplified his example by paying it forward in their own circles.
After studying history at Valdosta State College, he made a home in Kentucky and Indiana. He retired from Philip Morris as a factory materials manager after 26 years of dedication. He devoted the rest of his life to travel, family, and friends.
Visitation will be at Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach, FL on Friday, April 1 starting at 11 a.m. with a short service at 1 p.m. Burial in Crestlawn Cemetery to follow.
