Stephen C. Chamberlain, 89, of Vero Beach, passed away on Feb. 28, 2016.
He is survived by his children Gail Cowan of Grapevine, Texas, and Lynn Irby of Vero Beach; four grandchildren, Christie (Jeff) Tinker, Richard Cowan, Stephen (Genna) Irby, and Stephanie Irby; five great-grandchildren, Jonah Alexander Tinker, Chloe Irene Tinker, Jacob Charles Tinker, Hays Chamberlain Irby, and Harvey Ward Irby.
He was preceded by his loving wife Doris of 63 years, and his parents Charles Cyril and Edma May Chamberlain, and brother Arthur Robert Chamberlain.
Chamberlain graduated from high school and attended Hofstra University. He served two terms in the U.S. Navy during WWII and Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1955.
He and his wife Doris moved to Miami Beach where he started his career at the Miami Daily News. He moved to sales with Remington Rand and then took a position in Houston, Texas, as Branch Manager of General Binding Corporation. Finally, he and Doris became co-owner/operators of Flash Printing. In 1998, they retired to Vero Beach.
Chamberlain was a member of the 33 Degree Scottish Rite in Houston, Texas, belonged to the Epithany Church, and was a volunteer Deputy Sheriff during his years in Houston.
He donated his time serving on the Board of Directors for Grove Isle Condominium Association as President and several other positions. He was a well-respected, kind man and will be loved and missed by all.
