Charles Wayne “Chuck” Johnson III, 63, of Sebastian, passed away on Dec. 31, 2015.
He is survived by his sons Michael Johnson (Aileen) of Tampa and Austin Johnson of Maggie Valley, N.C.; daughter Melissa Milner (Aaron) of Sebastian; grandchildren Mikaela Johnson and Ryan Milner; mother Fay Ryan of Warne, N.C.; sister Sharon Johnson of Warne, N.C.; sisters-in-law Cindy Skidmore (Phil) of Fort Lauderdale, Judy Phillips (Jim) of Davie and Lisa Price (Mike) of Maggie Valley, N.C.; brother-in-law Joe Bellows (Aixa) of Fort Lauderdale; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 36 years, Virginia “Ginny” Johnson and his son Charles Wayne “Chad” Johnson IV.
Johnson was born at Fort Devens Army Base, Massachusetts and lived in the Sebastian area since 1987 after moving from Fort Lauderdale.
He retired as a project manager from Jackson Land Development, Pompano Beach, after 34 years with the company.
He loved the ocean, and in his young adult years, he was an avid surfer and diver. He volunteered with Little League for more than 30 years and umpired in various youth organizations. He served as umpire-in-chief of Little League’s District 17 and umpired in the 2008 Big League World Series. He loved to share his knowledge by training other umpires at clinics throughout the years.

A gathering will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian. Celebration of Life will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
