Ruth Edith Steinmo, 88, of Sebastian, passed away on Jan. 20, 2016.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Ragnar Steinmo, of Sebastian; her children Sharon(Frank) Borden, of Micco, Fla., and Glenn Steinmo, of Sebastian; grandchildren Tim Borden and Kristina Borden both of Sebastian; her brother Walter (Eileen) Johnson, of Greenwich, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Barbara Steinmo, of Sebastian and her brother Charlie Johnson of Long Island, N.Y.
Formally of Staten Island, N.Y., Steinmo was born Feb. 10, 1927 to Matts and Gerda Johnson in Brooklyn, N.Y.
She served in the Salvation Army from 1946 to 1958, when she married. She was a Homemaker and long-time member of El Bethel Church, Staten Island, before moving to Florida in 1985 to be with her family.
Steinmo was a member of Sebastian Church of God before joining Riverside Church in 1988 where she served as secretary for many years.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, at Riverside Church, 11205 Roseland Road, Sebastian, FL 32958, with a reception to follow.
