James Joseph Sleasman, 78, of Sebastian, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the VNA Hospice Residence of Vero Beach on Dec. 25, 2015.
He was loved by his wife of 24 years, Carmen Stewart and his son David Anthony Sleasman of Waterveliet, N.Y.
Sleasman was born Septe. 8, 1937 in Albany, N.Y. to Henry and Mary Sleasman.
He proudly served in the United States Navy and worked for the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles for 24 Years.
He was an honor guard for the American Legion Post #189 in Sebastian, A volunteer for the Indian River County Sheriffs Dept. for seven years and a member of Christ The King Lutheran Church of Sebastian.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory, Sebastian.
