SEBASTIAN —The Sebastian City Council will continue as it has for at least another year after the three incumbents were re-elected and they opted to keep their current leadership.
Sebastian City Council members Andrea Coy, Richard Gillmor and Bob McPartlan were returned to their seats in the Municipal election, beating the only challenger, Damien Gilliams.
The three incumbents were sworn in at the Nov. 18 Council meeting: Coy for her sixth term; Gillmor for his fourth; and McPartlan for his third.
Fellow Council members Jerome Adams and Jim Hill picked Gillmor and Adams to retain their previous positions, as mayor and vice-mayor, respectively.
City Attorney Bob Ginsburg read the official Certificate of the Canvassing Board returns: of the 5,429 votes cast, McPartlan received 1,550; Gillmor, 1,534; Coy, 1,475 and challenger Damien Gilliams, 870.
